Where's Lexi's Sock --- Our Version of Where's Waldo!? :)

Yesterday, Lexi and I spent a good bit of time in her playroom and of course, I snapped a bunch of pictures. It wasn't until I was looking at them last night that I realized in almost EVERY shot, she has her little white sock with her as she is playing with other toys!!! These were too cute not to share!! Haha!!
These last few pictures are just for fun! She LOVES standing up! She is crusing all around her play room! As a matter of fact, she doesn't use her big toys to play with really anymore...she uses them to help her cruise around her room! So I am just sharing her wonderful standing abilities that I have recently caught on camera!
And one final picture! She is really enjoying her sippy cup lately! I think it is because she has kind of figured out that she has to tip it back in order to get the water out of it! She is such a big girl!!!

Our Trip to NY

This past weekend we spent Friday through Sunday up in Upstate New York to celebrate my dad's wedding. Lexi had a hard time during the first hour of the trip, but then we stopped and fed her and brought out the portable DVD player (with Word World) and she did fine for the rest of the trip. 6 hours really is a long time for her to be in her car seat --- especially for this child becuase she is SO active!! Luckily she was able to take a little bit of a nap at one point during the trip which helped! On Saturday morning we met my mom so that she could hold her for the first time ever! My mom was very excited about this...as was I! Lexi and my mom had seen each other NUMEROUS times via Skype and Lexi always had a big grin on her face...so we weren't quite sure how she would had a real face to face meeting! But Lexi did well...my mom even got some smiles out of her! While we were visiting my mom, Lexi discovered a cute wooden chair that she enjoyed sitting in. So now I am on a mission to find her a cute little wooden chair. I believe I can get one at a craft store and then just sand and stain it for her!

Three generations!!! Cute picture...but I can't WAIT to lose the last few pounds...I look awful in this pic!!!

Saturday evening was the wedding at the Silo Restaurant in Greene, NY. It was a nice little ceremony and we had dinner afterwards. Lexi did pretty good, but we had to leave when it got close to her bed time. She was getting a little cranky. She did get to try a baked potato for the first time that night and she really loved it!

I took some pictures for my dad of him and Lena so that they would have some nice memories of their wedding. Overall I am happy with the way they turned out! Congratulations to my dad and Lena!

Sunday morning we left to come home...I think Lexi was happy to get home to her playroom where she could use up some of her energy! She is an on-the-go child!!! It was a good trip, but it was definitely good to get home!

A Girl Who Loves Her Baths!!

Lexi has been taking baths in the big-girl tub for quite a while now but I had yet to take any pictures. Last night I just happened to have the camera handy! She loves her baths but she gets pruney so fast so she can't stay in there too long. Last night she discovered that she LOVES to splash in the bathtub...ultimately getting mommy and daddy wet! But it is so cute, I just can't tell her no :)

I like the fact that she actually likes taking baths. Makes the whole process a lot easier. She would spend forever in there if I would let her. We use to give her a bath right before bed, but last night we did it right after her dinner and then let her play for an hour and a half before bed. That seemed to work out a little better. She was in a better mood when she got out of the tub! :)

This past weekend we took a trip up to Upstate New York to visit my mom and dad and attend my dad's wedding. I will post pics from that trip in the next post...hopefully sometime today! There is a lot going on today so I may not get to it until much later!

Happy 10 Months Lexi (and some randomness)!!

I cannot believe our daughter is out of single digits! She is 10 months old today! She is turning in to a little person! When I look at her it is hard to remember what she looked like as a little baby because she has grown up so much! She gets more and more beautiful every day! I just cannot believer it!

Some of the highlights from this past month for our little girl include:

  • Sleeping through the night --- usually from 7:30 p.m. until 6:00 a.m.
  • Combining bottle/baby food feedings...preparing for the 3 meals/2 snacks a day routine
  • Riding in a shopping cart for the first time --- we finally got a shopping cart/high chair cover
  • Enjoying her new playroom! We converted the office to her very own playroom...she really enjoys being in there. I think she really prefers the carpet to the hardwood floor.
  • She now weighs 19 lbs 4 oz and is 28 inches long (according to our GI appt we had on 7/13)
  • She is currently being weaned off her reflux meds!! She should be medication free in 7 days!
  • She is starting to ramble "mamamama" and also dances now!
  • Cruises like a champ and is braving the standing with no support more and more each day! Will update as soon as walking begins!

I completely forgot to post her 4th of July pictures! We didn't do anything for the 4th and surprisingly the noise of the neighborhood fireworks did not wake her up! I do not have the 4th of July pictures on this computer so I will post them once I use our main computer.

I will however, post some cute pictures I took yesterday! These show how much she is looking like a little person! She is growing so fast! I cannot believe her birthday part is in 2 months! I have been busy planning her birthday party. I have the invitations all done...just have to get some other decoration type things!

Mommy's Little Helper

Lexi loves to hang out in the kitchen now when I am doing laundry or dishes. That is one of her favorite places to be. The other day she tried to "help" me doing laundry...well of course she didn't manage to actually be of any help, but it was so darn cute!!!As you can see from this last picture...she would much rather EAT the laundry than fold it :) Of course I think she would rather eat most things...EVERYTHING ends up in her mouth. That could be because she has a bunch of teeth coming in all at once! Poor girl!

Best Buddies!

Jingles and Lexi have been best friends since she before she arrived in our world...but now it is just insane how much they like to play together. Lexi's face lights up so much when she sees Jingles. And now Lexi carries around this string to my sweatshirt so of course Jingles is going to follow her and try to play with the string too!

The other day after John got through feeding Lexi, Jingles jumped up in his lap and practically laid right on top of Lexi's lap. It was so adorable! They are definitely the best of friends!! Even if Jingles tries to run away as Lexi chases her around the house!! Haha!
