Christmastime at the Stuntz'

Well our tree is up and in full force --- with 1150 lights, tons of ornaments, and presents wrapped under the tree! It took John over 3 hours to light the tree...but it was worth it. It looks amazing! Little Jingles was determined to help John put the lights on the tree. She has loved this time of year the past 2 years. Maybe because she has a Christmas name. Lucky didn't seem to care...he just wanted to sleep in his tower. Lazy cat!

MD vs. FSU

Well the whole reason Cristina came up for a visit...besides to see me...was to go to the Maryland vs. Florida State University football game at the U of M. The game was scheduled for Saturday at 7:45 p.m. so we got to the parking lot at 3:45 p.m. for some fun tailgating! This time around it was me, John, Cristina, Courtney, CJ, and mom & dad Stuntz. We had tons of food again! CJ made his beer battered brats again, we had chip & dip, cookies, hamburgers, and drinks. The most important thing we had this time...which we didn't have last time...HOT CHOCOLATE!!! It was like 30 degrees out so we figured we would use the hot chocolate to keep us warm. It was very much needed! During our tailgating us girls found ourselves warming up in CJ's truck because we were so cold!!
The picture above gives you a good picture as to how cold it was that day! We all had long johns on under our clothes and multiple layers of clothing...yet we were all still cold. Finally it was time to venture off to the game. Thank goodness it wasn't too long of a walk! Well in the end, the Terps lost to the Seminoles in a 37-3 loss. That was not a good night for the Terps...but I think Cristina would say it was worth the money for the plane ticket to see her Seminoles win on the road! We ended up bailing on the game at the end of the 3rd quarter because it was just way too cold. It turned out at half-time it dropped to 24 degrees!! No wonder I could not feel my toes! Overall though, it was a great day! It was fun to watch football with my sis! Below are some fun pictures from the day!

Sister's Visit!

This past Friday my sister, Cristina surprised me with a visit from Florida! John and I picked her up from the airport and then we headed to Glory Days for a little bit of "Happy Hour!" Then we headed to Wegmans for some snacks for the night. Once we made it home, we played some Wii and had a few drinks. We played tennis...which I hate to say I kicked her butt! We also played Mario Kart and the original Super Mario Bros 3. It was a great night! I was so excited that she was here.

Dinner with the In-Laws

Yesterday, John's parents came down to our place to watch the Maryland vs. North Carolina game (go TERPS) and then to have dinner with us. It was a rainy day out...with tornado warning too! So it was nice to sit inside and watch a football game and eat some good food. We had chips/salsa, cheese/crackers, and snausages for appetizers. Then I made slow cooked bbq pork chops, roasted green beans and tomatoes, mashed potatoes, and bread for dinner! It really was yummy. The slow cooker made the whole house smell so good. For desert I made a pumpkin spice bundt cake in my behive bundt cake pan. I have had that pan since last Christmas but this was the first time I had actually made it! The cake was wonderful...and so cute :)

It is hard to see, but there are 3 little bees on the behive. The glaze makes it look like real honey!! It was so yummy and didn't last long!

Overall it was a great afternoon/evening! It was great to hang out with the in-laws and oddly enough, I enjoyed the cooking!! Can't wait for them to come back for some more football, food and fun!

Camping Weekend - October 10-12

About a month ago, John and I headed to Gore, Virginia for a weekend campout with our siblings (Peg/CJ, Courtney/Joey, and Bob/Kari). We even had two animal companions with us...no not the cats...two fun dogs! Both Daisy and Teddy joined us! Daisy enjoyed swimming around in the lake and Teddy enjoyed hanging out by the campfire. During our 2nd day there, a stray dog came to our site and played with Daisy and she really enjoyed that. Nothing like a doggie date for the Daisy!

Normally when we go camping we get rained on. However, this weekend was a miracle...NO RAIN!! It was an absolutely beautiful weekend for camping. It was nice during the day and chilly at night which made for great sleeping weather! The first night though I did freeze because I underestimated how cold it was really going to get! We had tons of food (eggs, chicken, campfire pizzas, s'mores, deep fried fries and chicken, and tons of snacks!!). CJ even bought a portable shower so we did not have to go and use the bug filled showers!

On Saturday we hung out at the picnic table playing a game of Simpson's Monopoly...as usual, I lost! But it still was fun. Throughout the weekend I was able to finish my book and relax in the captain's chair listening to my iPod. Overall it was a very relaxing weekend! Below are some random pictures from the weekend!

MD vs. Wake Forest

On October 18th, John and I went to the Maryland vs. Wake Forest football game at The University of Maryland in College Park, Maryland. We were joined by John's parents, and his sisters, Peg & Courtney and their other halfs! The game was at 12:30 p.m. so we got to the parking garage to begin tailgaiting at 10:00 a.m. We had so much food! Who said bratwursts weren't good at 11:00 a.m.? We had chips and dip, cookies, brats, and for some there were beers! Yes some of my siblings had beer before noon! Hey whatever makes them happy right? I stuck to soda!

After tailgaiting we ventured to the stadium...which was what felt like a mile away! We climbed to the very top of the stadium and waited for the game to start. What started out being a very cold morning (hence the jackets and sweatshirts worn by us in the picture) turned out to be a very hot day in the stadium. It was hot and sunny enough that some of us ended up with sunburns...in OCTOBER!! The game was great! Maryland ended up winning 26-0!!! Talk about a great game. We are headed back to Maryland to see another game in a couple of weeks (Maryland vs. Florida State University). More tailgaiting food!
