Rockin the Red!

My 2 Capitals fans rockin the red this morning! It is so cute to see daddy and his mini Caps fan :) This first picture is such a cute picture of the two of them! She really is daddy's little girl. The Capitals play their 3rd game of their series with Montreal tonight so we figured Lexi could help cheer them on in her Capitals onesie! We have had this onesie since before she was born! As a matter of fact, I had it last year when the Capitals were in the Stanley Cup Playoffs! Let's hope that her wearing this helps because the series is tied 1-1 right now! Go Caps!

Happy 7 Months Alexis!

Happy Birthday Baby Girl!!! She is now 7 months and changing every day! When I took her to the doctor for her cold/ear infection on Wednesday, she weighed 16 pounds 11 ounces! That is so crazy to me! I just can't believe how fast she is growing. I am amazed every day by her.
She has grown in to such a happy, playful baby! I absolutely love spending time with her. I am such a lucky person. She loves to play with her toys and sometimes just wants to be left alone with them! Which is actually nice because it allows us to get some things done while she is playing. She really enjoys her jumperoo and loves to play with her blocks by dumping them all out of the bucket!
We recently cut out a feeding in Lexi's schedule so she is now down to 4 bottles a day of about 5 oz a bottle. This is a good thing because in 5 months she will be done with bottles...so unreal to me! So now she gets a bottle at 7:30 a.m., 11 a.m., 2 p.m., and 7:30 p.m. She gets a container of baby food at 12 p.m. for lunch and then 2 containers with rice cereal at 5 p.m. (this is the bottle we cut out). She doesn't seem to affected by it. She REALLY enjoys baby food! Sometimes I think she would rather have that then her bottles...then again, do you blame her!
As I mentioned earlier, she is fighting a cold and an ear infection right now. Poor thing --- no wonder she couldn't sleep well. So she is now on Ammoxicillian for 10 days and then has to go back on the 28th for an ear check to make sure it hasn't spread to the other ear or is still in the same ear. She has only been on the meds for a day and I think they are already starting to make a difference. Last night she went down at 7:30 p.m. and only woke up once before she got up around 6:00 a.m.! Such a difference compared to the multiple times she had been up the few nights before. I feel so bad for her because she can't breathe. :(
Well I thought I would end this entry with a list of some of her favorite things. She has so many things she likes right now I wanted to document them. This blog is great because it helps me to keep track of her life and how she is changing. I love it! I hope one day I can share it with her so she can see just how much mommy and daddy love her! Here are some of her favorite things:
  • Sweet potatoes, squash, and carrots
  • Watching the kitties --- can't wait until she can chase them :)
  • Bath time
  • Snuggles with mommy and playtime with daddy
  • Riding in her stroller --- particularly in Home Depot
  • Blowing raspberries --- it is so cute to hear that on her monitor when she wakes up in the morning
  • Spending days with Linnie
  • Word World --- she could watch that for hours if I let her
  • Dancing around the house
  • Her room --- she is absolutely fascinated by the color and the butterflies on the wall

Surprise Visit From Grandpa!!

Lexi's grandfather (my dad) surprised us with a visit last night to our house! It was so good to see him since we hadn't seen him in a few months! Lexi had definitely grown since the last time he had seen her. She wasn't quite sure who he was, but she warmed up to him...but only if mommy was holding her :) She is exhibiting a little bit of stranger anxiety these days.
It was really cute to see her looking at him like "who are you?" He doesn't get to see her often, so it was really nice that she got to spend a couple of hours with her grandpa last night. Hopefully he will be back again soon....probably the end of May! So we have something to look forward to. By then she will be 8 1/2 months old!!! So crazy!

A Year Ago Today...

...was the first time we realized how fragile my pregnancy was. We made our first trip to the ER because I was bleeding heavily...I thought we had lost our baby. But she was strong...and she hung on through not only a 2nd bleed but also early dialiation. She was and still is a strong little girl. I remind myself every day how lucky I am that she is here with us. I think about how rough bed rest was, but then I see her and I think to myself how it was worth every second to have her here with us. She is my little girl and I couldn't imagine my life without her. She will always be my little miracle.

Such a Big Girl!

Lexi is such a big girl now! Within the past few days, she has been learning to sit on her own! She can do this for several minutes at a time. This is much better than she was just a couple of days ago! She still topples over after a while, but for the most part she will sit there and play with her toys or watch her show. I cannot believe how fast she is growing up!

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter to all our family and friends!!!As you can see by the smile on her face, Lexi is enjoying her first Easter! The bunny brought her some new toys and a Word World DVD (her favorite show). She absolutely LOVES her new pink cell phone! She is one happy girl today!

Easter Bunny!

This morning we took Lexi to the mall to sit with the Easter Bunny. I wasn't quite sure how she would react...actually I expected her to scream! Amazingly she did not! She did quite well and both her and the bunny survived :) Here is her adorable picture!!!
