Lexi's First Christmas!

Lexi's first Christmas was very awesome! We all woke up at 6:30 p.m. to open presents! Here is a picture of Lexi and I when we woke up. We were both in our Christmas jammies :) Although Lexi didn't know what the day actually was, we really enjoyed "helping" Lexi opened her presents! She made out like a bandit here at our house. She got a jumperoo, an animal toy thing, some books, the Bumbo tray, and some clothes for 6 months. Below are some pictures of us opening her presents. She stared right at us the whole time. I think she was enjoying it :) There is also a picture of her loot!Once we opened presents and she was fed, we got her all dressed in her "Christmas Cutie" outfit fully equipped with tights that her Auntie Cristina sent to her! She looked absolutely precious in it!!!!! I think she really enjoyed wearing a dress too!We then headed over to John's parents house where she was again showered with gifts!! Her Linnie and Pop gave her a stuffed Snoopy (which she loves giving hugs to), a cute little outfit, and a Zoo toy thingy which is the companion to the animal toy we gave her. Her Aunt Courtney gave her a baby boombox. Her Uncle Joey gave her a Redskins jersey! Her Aunt Peg and Uncle CJ and also her Uncle Bob and Aunt Kari showered her with tons of books!! We have already read the books to her once!

Here are some pictures from the Christmas celebration at John's parents house. I love getting pictures of her with family members. It will give us and her great memories as she grows older!

Here she is with her Aunt Peg and Aunt Courtney:

Overall I think she had a great day! We had tons of food and she got tons of love from everyone! I am already thinking of ideas for her for Christmas next year :)

Merry Christmas Eve!

After a trying year, we have so much to be thankful for...our beautiful daughter being the biggest thing. As we celebrate our first Christmas Eve as a family of 3, I look at my daughter and realize how extremely blessed I am. Below is a video I captured today...she seems very excited for Santa to arrive :) I cannot wait to see what the next year has in store for us as a family. I can't wait to see Alexis grow and experience new things! It is going to be an exciting year!!

Merry Christmas everyone!!!

Shedd Family Christmas

Okay so yeah I know it has been a looooong time since an update!! So I am going to try to catch ya up! Christmas was spent with Jennifer's dad in New York. We got there a couple of days before Christmas and stayed until Christmas day night. The night before Christmas we spent a few hours making cookies! We would have made a lot more, however, we ran out of all necessities: eggs...flour...etc! Next year hopefully we will be more prepared. The cookies turned out great though. We made raspberry stars and peanut butter cookies. Christmas morning we woke up and had the traditional "Shedd Christmas Day Breakfast" of homemade waffles and bacon! It was soooo yummy! This was the first year John has been able to experience that! It was great! Then we went over and opened stockings! I think dad was surprised that he actually had things to open in his stocking! Then on to presents! John and I got a blu-ray dvd player from my dad. So logically I got John a few blu-ray movies...as he did for me! He gave me Get Smart with Steve Carrell and Anne Hathaway! I love that movie. He also gave me my Williams-Sonoma Snowman bundt cake pan that I have been wanting. Then we finished the day off with a good Christmas dinner filled with ham, green beans, mashed potatoes, and of course pie! Overall it was an awesome Christmas! Here are some pictures from out cookie extravaganza :)
