To My Amazing Daughter Alexis...

I wake up every morning with you in my mind. I listen and wait for you to wake up so that we can begin our day together. I love your smile as I peek over the crib as you awake from your night's sleep...as if to say "hi mommy!" You melt my heart with your smile and your giggle. Who knew something/someone so small could bless my life so greatly. When I look in to your eyes I know you can feel my love for you. Lexi, I love you more than words can express...I hope you know that.

I feel like one of the lucky ones. I get to experience your joy every day. I got to see your first smile, your first laugh, your first tooth, and your first time rolling over. I am so lucky. Some mommies are not so lucky.

This time last year I never could have imagined how different my life would be. I knew you would be special...I knew I would love you with all of my heart. I never knew though how hard leaving you every day would be though. Just know, mommy thinks about you ALL day. I wonder what you are doing...how you are napping...what toys you are playing with...I wonder if you miss me as much as I miss you.
